Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us when you:

• Register as a hospitality worker on our platform
• Update your profile or account settings
• Send messages through our platform

Information collected may include:

• Payment provider usernames for receiving tips
• Custom message text

Information collected automatically:

When anyone, including guests who scan a QR code, visits a worker's tip page, we automatically record certain technical information for analytics and fraud prevention. When a tip page is viewed, we record the visitor's IP address and browser/device information (user agent). When a payment button or the "I just tipped!" button is tapped, we record the IP address. This information is used to show workers how often their page is visited and to detect abuse (such as inflated tap counts). It is not used to identify individual guests, and it is not shared or sold.

If a guest chooses to send a message through a worker's tip page, the message text is stored on our system and forwarded to the worker by email (along with the guest's reply email, if one was provided).

Information Sharing and Disclosure

We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

• With Payment Processors: We share your payment account username with tippers so they can complete transactions through those platforms. If you do not wish for your real name to be revealed, some of the platforms including PayPal and Venmo allow you to create a username
• With Service Providers: We may share information with trusted service providers who assist us in operating our platform (such as email delivery services), under strict confidentiality agreements
• For Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental request
• To Protect Rights: We may disclose information to protect the rights, property, or safety of GetCashTips, our users, or others

Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides you with specific rights regarding your personal information:

• Right to Know: You have the right to request that we disclose what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell

Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. Our simplified login process based on emails is designed for your convenience, because it does not require storing a password with us. However, if your email is compromised then the bad actor can change your information or delete your account. We are not responsible for damages that arise from this.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. If you or someone who has access to your email account deletes your GetCashTips account, we will not be able to recover your settings or history. The history is limited to tracking how many times someone has viewed your tip page or tapped a tip button.

Guest analytics data: IP addresses and browser information recorded on page views and button taps are automatically removed after 12 months. After that, the records retain only anonymous information (which worker's page was visited and when), used for aggregate counts such as total scans per month.

Guest messages: Messages sent through a tip page are stored on our system and forwarded to the worker by email. We do not process or store tip payments themselves. To find information regarding tips such as the amounts or senders, log in to the third-party payment provider's system.

Children's Privacy

Our platform is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
